Of Latin origin meaning wise, intelligent, shrewd, or all-knowing... we found the name Cato to be fitting for our 1 and only foal this year. He was immediately curious and brave after birth.
Cato is not only PVF's only foal for the year, but also Gio's only foal to be born this year, so don't let this guy pass you by!
His dam, Nyssa, is our lovely white dun mare who has no fear in the world. She is in your pocket, loves a good scratch, and is just along for the ride. She stands 13.3hh and is lightly started to ride. Her sire is DD Tjalve who is by the gray import, Tsjalle.
Gio speaks for himself. He stands 14.3hh, is our go-to mount for any occasion and is a true ambassador for the Fjord breed. He is highly athletic and extremely easy going. Since coming to us at PVF, he has enjoyed life as a family horse, a trail blazer and camping partner. He is highly awarded in Europe, and still remains the only approved red dun fjord stallion in the Netherlands.
