Owning Gio is a dream come true! When we decided it made the most sense to have our own herd stallion, I set out on a search for a weanling stud prospect. I found DDungard's website in April 2022 and saw they had just had Gio's first US born stud colt hit the ground which led us to purchasing DD Galant. Fast forward to 2 years later, we had the opportunity to buy Gio, and I could not pass it up. I flew out to Washington to try him out & fell in love. He's not only so handsome but has a great work ethic.
Gio has settled in at our farm better than I could have ever imagined and is my main mount for riding. We have gone to multiple obstacle clinics and enjoy trail riding with groups of friends. I feel he is truly enjoying this change of pace in his life, and I couldn't be happier with having Gio as part of our family.
Some Accomplishments:
- Lifetime approved for breeding in the Netherlands & Belgium
- Best stallion of the 2016 evaluation in Belgium & received an honorary medal from Fjord Horse International
- Honorary medal from Fjord Horse International in 2019 for the best stallion in show at the Netherlands evaluation
- The first Dutch Fjord stallion with both dressage and jumping awards at the studbook level
- Competed at the American Eventing Championships with a junior rider at the novice level in 2022 and qualified for the AECs again in 2023 & 2024
